Recently shipped Gemini-powered quiz creation in Forms and visual screenshots for Meet meeting notes.

Gemini in Docs, Forms, and Vids gained creation and avatar features. Gemini now generates images, diagrams, and infographics directly in Docs using document context. In Forms, 'Help me create' supports quiz generation from prompts and Drive files. Vids added personal avatars via Gemini Omni for AI video clips.

Gemini Notebook replaced NotebookLM. The research tool was renamed to Gemini Notebook with a new logo, rolling out over several weeks.

Gemini 3.6 Flash and 3.5 Flash-Lite reached GA. The models offer improved token efficiency, code planning, and lower pricing. The temperature, top_p, and top_k sampling parameters are now deprecated.

Chrome 151 reached stable across desktop and Android. Chrome 152 Beta launched for desktop, Android, and iOS. Chrome 151 security updates included multiple critical fixes (CVE-2026-15899, CVE-2026-15764, CVE-2026-15112). ChromeOS LTS-144 and LTC-150 received patches for high and critical CVEs.

Meet, Calendar, Gmail, Sheets, and Classroom shipped workflow and UI updates. The Meet homepage now centralizes meeting resources, with auto-organized files in Drive. Calendar added delegate icons and information density options for large monitors. Gmail warns when replying all while BCC'd. Sheets added scatter charts with multiple x-series and programmatic comment management via the API. Classroom got role-based homepages.

Gemini Robotics ER 2 entered public preview with advanced spatial reasoning and multi-robot coordination support. The older gemini-robotics-er-1.6-preview deprecates on August 31, 2026.

Chat API search method and read state subscriptions went GA. The Chat API now supports message search and user read state event subscriptions.

GenAI SDKs (Python v2.16.0, JS v2.15.0) added environment resources and Google Maps grounding for places and routing. Deprecation warnings were added for older Imagen methods. The gemini-cli tool released v0.53.0 with RCE prevention and infinite loop detection, followed by v0.53.1, v0.54.0-preview.1, and nightly builds.
