Recently shipped 63-language real-time speech translation in Meet, a single customize hub for Gemini, and immersive explorations for students.

Meet translation dropped language pairing. Powered by Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, Meet detects the spoken language automatically and translates into each listener's preferred language across 63 languages, even when speakers switch mid-call. Web and mobile get it; Meet hardware listens. Calls also moved to post-quantum encryption on web and room hardware. The Meet Media API is deprecated, with endpoints turned down January 15, 2027; the Meet REST API and Add-ons SDK stay supported.

Gemini got one place to customize it. A hub collects skills and 40+ connected apps, with permissions auditable or revocable. Skills roll out to Workspace and will replace Gems. Immersive explorations add layered, interactive scenes for students, and @Gemini Notebook pulls notebooks into a chat.

Workspace assistants went mobile and conversational. Gmail Live answers spoken questions about the inbox on Android and iOS for paid Workspace users, with source cards each turn. Gemini in Sheets reached iOS, and Sheets now runs natural-language questions against the full BigQuery dataset. Meeting recaps post summaries, decisions, and owned action items in Chat; pivot tables gained a compact layout that survives Excel round-trips.

Comments became programmable; calendars follow their owner. Comments and suggested edits work across the Docs, Sheets, and Slides APIs, and Markdown previews and edits natively in Drive and Docs. Secondary calendars are deleted with their owner's account — transfer ownership first. From November 11, Workspace MCP servers reject OAuth clients not marked for AI agents.

Gemini 4 Argon and Nano Banana 2.1 are GA. Argon targets complex coding, agentic, math, and science work; Nano Banana 2.1 improves text rendering and adds panoramic ratios to 8:1. gemini-3.1-flash-image is deprecated with no shutdown date. New paid Generate Content API projects now store requests by default (store=true); SDKs added Live API in-session context updates.

Chrome 156 shipped 52 security fixes. The desktop build also reached Android and ChromeOS, with 157 arriving on iOS and in early stable.
