Starting September 15, 2026, Twilio will return new error codes for Toll-Free Verification and A2P 10DLC campaign registration rejections, providing clearer feedback on why registrations were rejected.

Dedicated IPs are now available for Twilio Email with automatic 41-day warmup schedules and shared pool overflow protection. Organizations can segment traffic by grouping IPs into custom pools, assign specific IPs to sub-accounts, and configure fallback options.

The Twilio Voice JavaScript SDK now includes noise cancellation reference components for either open-source RNNoise or commercially-licensed Krisp, providing a production-ready starting point.

Twilio is introducing a new regional IP address for Event Streams webhook traffic in US East (us-east-1) on September 15, 2026, moving from a shared IP range to dedicated regional addresses. Customers who validate incoming webhook traffic by source IP address must update their allowlists; others require no action.

Effective August 3, 2026, the Send to Coworker action has been removed from the Domain Authentication setup flow due to low usage. Twilio SendGrid recommends using internal communication channels like Slack, Microsoft Teams, or internal ticketing systems to share DNS record updates with IT or infrastructure teams instead.

Conversations (classic) now supports whatsapp/card and whatsapp/flows content types, letting you send WhatsApp Card templates and WhatsApp Flow templates directly through the Conversations API. Build these content types with the Content Template Builder and reference them by SID when sending a message.

Restricted API Keys now support granular, resource-level permissions for Conversations (classic), covering actions like listing conversations, sending messages, managing participants, and configuring webhooks. You can scope a key to only the operations needed, reducing blast radius if a key is compromised.

US Branded Calling is now generally available for all customers on T-Mobile and Verizon, allowing you to display branded elements like your logo and call reason when reaching out to customers.

On September 1, 2026, date_created and date_updated on Functions and Assets resources will return accurate UTC timestamps instead of values shifted forward by 7 hours. The correction applies retroactively to all resources. Integrations depending on these fields for sorting, filtering, display, time-range comparisons, or audit logic should be reviewed before that date.

Twilio Event Streams now supports real-time notifications for WhatsApp message template status and category updates via the com.twilio.messaging.template.approval.updated event type, eliminating the need for periodic polling via the Content API or Senders API. Events fire when Meta approves, rejects, or re-categorizes a template, and payloads include both current and previous template state.

Error code 30915 now applies consistently to both A2P 10DLC and Toll-Free Verification, triggering when a Sole Proprietor registration contains business identifiers (LLC, Inc., Corp.) or public records indicating a registered legal entity that does not match a sole proprietorship. The validation now checks corporate identifiers in business names, websites, public records, tax documents, and business registration documents.

Lookup's Line Status package is now available in public beta as of July 14, 2026. It provides status information for mobile phone numbers—active, inactive, unreachable, reachable, or unknown—to help validate phone numbers in contact databases.

RCS messages that cannot be confirmed as delivered now return error code 30046 (Message delivery not confirmed) instead of 30036 (Validity Period Expired), providing a more accurate signal when a message fails to reach an unreachable end-user device due to device-side conditions like the recipient's device being switched off, out of coverage, or lacking internet connection.

The Conference list endpoint split to return only in-progress conferences has been delayed to September 30, 2026, based on customer feedback.

Twilio Functions now supports Node.js v24 as a build runtime, selectable from the Console Dependencies tab or via runtime: node24 in Serverless Toolkit configuration. Node.js v24 requires @twilio/runtime-handler version 2.1.2 or later; services with versions between 1.2.0 and 2.1.2 will be automatically upgraded on deployment to node24, while services below 1.2.0 must be manually upgraded first. Node.js v22 remains the default runtime.

WhatsApp Usernames are now supported on the Twilio Platform and Messaging APIs for WhatsApp, allowing users to adopt usernames that optionally mask their phone number and interact with businesses through Business Scoped User IDs (BSUID). Twilio exposes this identifier in message webhooks and Event Streams event data.

Branded Calling is now available in public beta for customers in Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Automated email notifications are now sent at four stages of A2P 10DLC campaign lifecycle: initial registration, approval, rejection, and resubmission. Direct customers receive notifications at the email address in their Brand registration or A2P bundle, while ISV subaccounts receive them at the Parent ISV account's Primary Customer Profile email.

Organization APIs can now be accessed using OAuth 2.0 client credentials per RFC 6749 section 4.4, enabling Microsoft Entra ID SCIM integration, programmatic user management via standard SCIM APIs, and programmatic role management through new Role Assignments and Roles public APIs.

Twilio will update SIP signaling IP addresses for Programmable Voice SIP and Elastic SIP Trunking over Interconnect in all regions during the second half of 2027, moving to the 159.26.160.0/20 range. Customers must update network firewalls to allowlist the new IPs and may need to update IP configurations within their Twilio solution before the cutover date.
