npx @buildinternet/releases get shopifyThe Spring '26 Edition landed with 150+ updates, market-driven shipping chief among them.
Shipping moved to Markets. Merchant-owned shipping configuration migrated from delivery profiles to Markets, letting merchants attach shipping options per market and vary rates by product and location conditions. The legacy delivery profile APIs are now deprecated for merchant-owned configurations as of 2026-07. Markets also gained state and province region support via MarketRegionSubdivision.
Point of Sale gained accountability features. A new POS activity log ties high-risk register actions — cash drawer operations, manual discounts, transaction voids, returns — to named staff, device, and location. A unified Devices view shows the full tablet and card reader fleet with online/offline status and supports remote logout. Staff attribution was automatically enabled for stores that hadn't configured it, with a redesigned staff picker in POS v11.9.
Analytics reached deeper into physical retail. Reports and Explore gained a filter for whether a location is a physical storefront, letting merchants isolate in-store from other channels. Location metafields — store tiers, internal codes, routing zones — are now available as dimensions and filters across analytics reports.
B2B and compliance expanded. B2B discounts activated automatically for new and eligible existing stores. Self-serve returns added order cancellation support, with per-market rules supporting the EU right-of-withdrawal window. The EU's €3 flat customs duty on qualifying orders under €150 is now calculated and collected automatically at checkout.
The developer API surface shifted. Storefront MCP cart tools are deprecated in favor of UCP Cart MCP (deadline August 31, 2026). Hydrogen added a one-click Vercel deploy path. Shop Minis added typed product variant intent hooks for native cart interactions.
