Sanity

The @sanity/presets package landed at v1.0.0, shipping six define<Type> schema helpers for the most common content shapes.

Studio v6 is a one-line upgrade for most projects. Schemas, plugins, and content APIs are unchanged. Breaking changes are narrow: Node.js 20 dropped in favor of 22.12, custom auth providers require migration, and auth.mode config is removed. Post-launch, v6.1.0 deep-linked Content Release validation errors to their offending field, and v6.2.0 added reference-field matching in global search.

@sanity/presets covers common schema boilerplate. definePage, defineLink, defineCta, defineSeo, defineImage, and defineRichText give you working schema types with sensible defaults. Install once, call the preset, done.

The MCP server's patch tooling now handles multiple documents. patch_documents (renamed from patch_document) applies patches to multiple docs in a single call, mirroring @sanity/client's patch() API with set, setIfMissing, unset, inc, dec, and diffMatchPatch. The Studio MCP connection now uses OAuth for Codex CLI. give_sanity_feedback (formerly give_feedback) was broadened to cover docs, HTTP API, schemas, and deployment friction.

Media Library added video versioning. Upload new versions, view history, and promote any to current — the same workflow already available for images. Asset metadata also improved: folders and collections now show creator, timestamps, and counts; the "in use" dialog includes draft documents and content releases, not just published content.

React App SDK added document creation; Manage gained token expiration controls. useCreateDocument lets you create documents directly from React. Auth logging via DEBUG=sanity:auth auto-redacts sensitive values. API tokens can now be set to expire at 30, 60, or 90 days, or a custom date in Manage.
