npx @buildinternet/releases get plaidRecently shipped Sandbox Studio, faster Fidelity and Charles Schwab onboarding, and account subtype changes.
Sandbox Studio launched in the Dashboard. Build and fire Sandbox API calls without leaving the Dashboard, generate custom Sandbox profiles from text descriptions, and save institutions to profiles to test Layer and the Returning User Experience.
Institution access got much faster. Fidelity Investments onboarding dropped to 4 weeks from 8 for Custom and Growth plans, and Charles Schwab now takes 5 business days instead of 6 weeks — pay-as-you-go customers no longer request access explicitly.
Account subtypes are changing — breaking. Removed the unused installment (loan) and charge card (credit) subtypes. From October 11, 2026, home equity covers HELOCs only, home equity loans move to a new home equity loan subtype, and commercial maps to commercial loans only.
Consent expiry needs update mode. Chase's new OAuth consents offer user-selectable durations (6 months, 1 year, or "always"), with earliest expirations in February 2027; existing Chase Items default to "always". Limited-purpose checking accounts at existing institutions are omitted from Link by default starting October 6, 2026. Identity calls on non-depository Capital One accounts no longer push the Item into an error state, and Items now reliably error when they expire.
Dashboard and SDK housekeeping. A Billing page shows invoice and payment history for negotiated-rate customers, and Settings became a full-page view. CRA Servicing reached GA and Identity Verification gained a phone call option. On the Link SDKs: iOS deprecated PlaidLinkView for PlaidLinkSheet and added SwiftUI sheet-dismissal protection; Android v6.2.0 and v6.2.1 fixed document upload and multi-institution OAuth and dropped the minimum SDK to 25; React Native v13.0.5 added an explicit Identity Verification session API and v13.1.0 renamed the sdkVersion export.
