Released iOS SDK v7.0.4 with SuccessMetadata subtype parsing fix and v6.5.0 with FinanceKit crash fix, Android SDK v6.1.0 with LinkEventViewNames and Flutter metadata, and React Native SDK v13.0.3 bundling those updates. React SDK v4.2.0 and v5.0.0 include bug fixes and improved Layer/Identity Match support. Added Canada support for Database Auth via Account Verification Dashboard and Guaranteed Payments endpoints and event types.

Fixed iOS SDK v7.0.2 and v7.0.3 regressions where onSuccess callback was not being called and missing fields in the callback. Balance-only ruleset calls to /signal/evaluate no longer require Signal risk consent. Also added user.ip_address field to /identity_verification/create, expanded institution coverage for ACATS transfers to 2,700 institutions, and announced Guaranteed Payments in Early Availability for Transfer.

Identity Verification now includes map-based visualization of end user's associated locations (IP geolocation, reported address, document address) with risk level assessment, and new fraud labels and categorization scheme across user account/identity, bank account/payment method, transaction, and behavior categories. Investments added OpenFIGI securities data support, Layer made Intelligent Account Sorting self-serve, and Transactions added four new transaction codes.

Android SDK v6.0.0 is a major rebuild in Kotlin with session-based API that removes legacy Plaid.create, PlaidHandler, and FastOpenPlaidLink APIs and raises minimum Android version to API 26. React Native SDK v13.0.0 replaces legacy global APIs with session objects, adds Embedded Search and Headless Link support, and bundles LinkKit.xcframework directly. Added FRAUD_TRANSACTION reason_code for product termination endpoints and support for Form I-20 immigration documents in payroll income requests.

Investments API now returns tax lot details for Robinhood, E*TRADE, Wealthfront, and IBKR. Transfer API adds requested_amount and guarantee_details to support guaranteed payments. Starting July 2026 for new integrations and September 2026 for existing ones, Plaid Check products must be explicitly requested in the products array when calling /link/token/create or /cra/check_report/create, or a PRODUCT_NOT_REQUESTED error will occur; reason_code fields in Plaid Check responses are deprecated in favor of new reason_codes arrays.

iOS SDK v7.0.0 introduces a modernized session-based architecture with native SwiftUI support and significantly reduces SDK footprint; iOS SDK 5.x and earlier are now officially deprecated. End users must now explicitly consent to Signal in Link before /signal/evaluate can be called for both Signal Transaction Scores and Balance-only evaluations.

Added /user/products/terminate, /user/items/remove, and /sandbox/user/reset_login endpoints for user-based subscription and Item management. Pay-as-you-go customers can now request Charles Schwab access via the OAuth institutions page without a support ticket, and trial plan customers get immediate access to all OAuth institutions. The /cra/check_report/income_insights/get endpoint now returns an empty array instead of omitting income_streams when none exist.

Launched Cash Advance Index for Protect. Monitor dashboard received multiple UI improvements including persistent search/sort/filter panels and separated Individual/Entity program lists. Identity Verification now supports non-US test users in Sample Identities Manager, and Plaid Check Consumer Report added income type support and user_id fields to related endpoints.

Income Insights v2 is now publicly available with improved categorization, automatic refresh, and configurable rules. Limited purpose checking accounts will be omitted from Auth Link by default effective immediately for new institutions and August 7, 2026 for existing ones. Layer can now exclude non-residential addresses from eligibility checks, and Sample Identities Manager is available via Dashboard for Identity Verification customers.

Plaid released an experimental CLI for Transactions, Investments, and Liabilities, and launched Trial plans providing free Production access for up to 10 Items with streamlined approval, replacing Limited Production for new teams. Added Sign in with Google to Dashboard, a disconnect_time field to PENDING_DISCONNECT webhook, and home_lending_report_options to Plaid Check Consumer Report.

iOS SDK v7.0.0-beta2/beta3 adds SwiftUI support and reduces bundle size. Plaid Protect moved from beta to early availability, and users can now create custom Signal Rules targeting specific institutions. Investments API adds cfi_code and margin_loan_amount fields, Enrich removes an unused recurrence object, and Plaid Check Consumer Report enables voluntary migration to new User APIs starting April 1, 2026.

iOS SDK v7.0.0-beta1 introduces SwiftUI support and reduces bundle size. iOS SDK v6.4.4 adds new event names and deprecates FinanceKit sync API and CocoaPods integration. Link disclosure copy updated for Signal Transaction Scores and Protect, and Custom Sandbox users can now set available balance to null.

Released Database Auth via API using the /auth/verify endpoint in early availability. Consumer Report now requires consumer_report_permissible_purpose in /link/token/create beginning March 3, 2026. Stripe integrations must use Payment Intents instead of Charges/Sources API, and webhook error objects now return display_message: null instead of omitting the field.

Bank of America API migration is scheduled for February through October 2026. Added user_id field to numerous webhook payloads, Domains functionality to Dashboard for team domain association, ELIGIBILITY_FOR_GOVT_BENEFITS permissible purpose for Plaid Check Consumer Report, and edits_current field to identity_edit_history. React Native SDK v12.8 fixes Layer events and Android Proguard rules.

Intelligent Account Sorting now allows prioritization of highest-balance or primary bank accounts with a "Recommended" badge in Link. Added payee_verification_status field to WalletTransaction schema, environment field to Protect webhooks, and improved detection of non-physical documents in Document Verification. Signal is now visible in Dashboard left navigation for all customers.

Plaid will enforce data validity for user information in /link/token/create beginning late January/early February 2026, returning INVALID_USER_IDENTITY_DATA for malformed data. Same-Day ACH cutoff time is moving from 3:30pm ET to 3:00pm ET in early February 2026. iOS SDK v6.4.3 adds support for experimental Layer features.

Added an Explore Dashboard view for Identity Verification customers in the US and UK, enabling backtesting and creation of custom rules based on user and session attributes.

Identity Verification now includes a facial_duplicates object in the risk_check object and Trust Index scores accessible via API and Dashboard. The Plaid Check Consumer Report PDF was redesigned with detailed account overview and inflow/outflow breakdowns.

Bank of America API migration and consent expiration are scheduled to begin early 2026. Plaid released new User APIs supporting all new integrations of Plaid Check, Multi-Item Link, and Plaid Protect with a simplified user_id-based representation.

Modular Link (Europe-only) support has ended. Personal Finance Categories v2 is now available with approximately 10-20% categorization accuracy improvement and a new granular schema for EWA use cases—opt in via personal_finance_category_version=v2. Layer gained SESSION_FINISHED webhook support and template improvements including required_if_supported_products, optional_products, additional_consented_products, custom preferred institutions list, SSN masking customization, and account pre-selection criteria (closed beta).
