Edu workspace members can export data when enabled by admin

Members of ChatGPT Edu workspaces without a data residency configuration can now export their workspace data when a workspace admin enables Data export. Members can request an export from Settings > Data controls, download the export from the email they receive, and upload the included conversation JSON to a new conversation in a personal ChatGPT account for reference.

Data export is off by default, and the setting applies to all workspace members.
