Atlas is being deprecated as browser-based agentic capabilities are brought into ChatGPT and Codex. Atlas is scheduled to stop working on August 9, 2026.

Users should move any Atlas data they want to keep before then. Atlas browser data, including bookmarks, open tabs, and browser history, will not transfer automatically. Users can export cookies and passwords to the ChatGPT desktop app and bookmarks to Chrome. ChatGPT conversation history is separate and will remain available in ChatGPT, subject to plan, workspace settings, and account access.

OpenAI is building a more capable browser experience for ChatGPT, including multiple tabs, downloads, improved navigation, and account login support where available.
