Work agent handles long-running research, files, and scheduled tasks

ChatGPT Work is an agent for longer, more involved tasks. It can research and analyze information, work across connected apps and files, and create finished documents, spreadsheets, presentations, reports, and Sites. Work can keep projects moving through Scheduled Tasks that run once, repeat on a schedule or trigger, or monitor for changes.

On web and mobile, Work is rolling out to paid plans except Free and Go. Pro, Pro Lite, Enterprise, and Edu users receive access first; Plus and Business users will follow over the coming days. Enterprise and Edu workspaces have a two-week preview period with Work off by default.

The App Directory is being replaced with the Plugin Directory. Plugins can package skills, apps, and app templates for specific workflows, available from ChatGPT on web and desktop, including Work and Codex.
