Desktop app auto-updates now toggleable by admins

ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGPT for Healthcare, and ChatGPT Edu admins can now turn off in-app updates for the ChatGPT desktop app on supported macOS and Windows builds. This lets organizations review new releases before users receive them and deploy approved versions through their existing device management process.

The app's built-in updater remains enabled by default. Organizations that turn it off are responsible for promptly deploying new releases and security fixes; OpenAI does not provide version pinning, a separate stable release channel, or extended support for older versions.
