GPT-6.1 Sol is now the default model in the bundled and Amazon Bedrock catalogs, and Daybreak is now opt-in via --enable cli_daybreak or features.cli_daybreak=true, with controls, indicators, and /daybreak hidden and automatic Cyber routing omitted by default. Also added /mcp login <name> for signing in to MCP servers, per-turn Cyber access program selection via codex exec --cyber-access-program, and voice input/output device selection with locally saved preferences.
Codex Changelog
npx @buildinternet/releases get openai-codex-changelogPage previews now render inline in responses, and Codex task links can be opened directly on iOS. The approval picker is redesigned with clearer permission choices, plugins are reachable from a single Plugins entry in the composer's plus menu, and worktree support now matches the checkout used on desktop.
Remote stdio MCP servers with explicitly configured remote environment variables now preserve SYSTEMROOT, TEMP, and TMP, so Unix hosts retain the Windows executor's startup environment. The fix is backported to the 0.160 line.
New Home Screen widgets show recent tasks from selected computers and track remaining usage and reset times on Home and Lock Screens, plus a setting to keep the keyboard open after sending. Fixed missing tasks when loading or scrolling task lists, and canceling a queued prompt now returns recoverable text and attachments to the composer.
The terminal UI now preserves server provider, reasoning-summary, and verbosity settings and shows correct sessions in resume and fork history, and queued messages resume after reconnection without duplicate sends. Also added opt-in Guardian review context retrieval and a keyboard-accessible "Show more" action for browsing older tasks.
Eligible local sessions signed in with ChatGPT can now show optional reminders to complete account security setup.
GPT-6.1 Sol is available via gpt-6.1-sol, offering near-Astra performance for complex, long-running work across code, apps, and documents at lower cost than Astra. Availability depends on plan, client, and workspace settings.
Suppressed console windows flashing on Windows when Codex launches background processes and sandboxed commands.
Automatic follow-up prompt suggestions and the tui.prompt_suggestions setting were removed, and the bundled plugin-creator skill is gone. Opt-in instant_interrupt lets new input steer Codex during model responses or long-running code-mode calls, with fixes for Windows console windows, transcript copy formatting, and macOS TLS in network-enabled sandboxes.
GPT-6.1 Sol is now the default model in the bundled catalog, and the Amazon Bedrock Mantle and Runtime catalogs add it via a backport.
Terminal input approval is now enabled by default for commands running with elevated permissions, and runtime-only grants no longer trigger unnecessary reviews. Also added MCP server support for pre-registered OAuth client secrets, bearer-token auth for exec-server WebSockets, copy-on-select and right-click paste in the fullscreen TUI, and fixes for Windows and Linux sandbox failures.

Changelog
Full Changelog: rust-v0.157.0...rust-v0.157.1
Added GPT-6 Sol and Luna models including Amazon Bedrock support, with migration prompts for older models, and enabled fullscreen transcripts by default. Bug fixes cover proxy routing for realtime connections and web search, network restrictions across redirects and ongoing HTTP/WebSocket traffic, tmux mouse settings, and preserved voice conversations when switching threads.
Fixed CVE-2026-100754 on macOS in version 26.924.20706, credited to Patrick Wardle of the Objective-See Foundation.
GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna are now selectable from the model picker, and the rate-limit switch prompt now recommends GPT-6 Luna. Added both models to the model catalog.
Codex arrives on iOS with a redesigned home screen, an iPad split view that keeps the task list beside the open task in landscape, and support for browsing changes inside nested Git repositories. Side chats now carry over attachments, selected text, and review comments; blank or incomplete replies when the next queued prompt starts, pairing failures from an incorrect device clock, and Mac and Linux SSH connection issues are fixed.
GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna are rolling out to Codex and ChatGPT Work at lower token prices than GPT-5.6, with Sol for complex coding and agentic workflows and Luna for high-volume tasks. Both reach Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users, and Enterprise administrators must enable the models.
Folders can now be created directly from the file picker, and writing blocks support draft alternatives and copy actions. Queued prompts no longer go missing or appear outdated after reopening a task, worktree task cards open correctly once setup completes, and the new-task button is restored for projects containing only worktree tasks.
New local TUI sessions now leave reasoning summaries disabled by default, fixing request rejection by providers that do not support them, while explicit reasoning-summary settings remain respected.
