GPT-Live-1 enables natural turn-taking in ChatGPT Voice

ChatGPT Voice is now powered by GPT-Live-1 for paid users and GPT-Live-1 mini for Free users. Both models can listen and speak at the same time, making turn-taking and interruptions feel more natural.

GPT-Live-1 works inside a ChatGPT chat, with spoken responses appearing alongside streamed text. It can use web search and memory, show visual results through supported widgets, and work with text and images in the same conversation.

Rolling out across consumer plans (Free, Plus, Pro) on chatgpt.com and ChatGPT iOS and Android apps in supported regions. Not available in ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, or Edu workspaces at launch. Does not support video or screen sharing; eligible subscribers can continue using those capabilities with Advanced Voice Mode.
