Claude Tag arrives for Slack—multiplayer, asynchronous, learns channel context
Claude Tag is a new way for teams to work with Claude, starting on Slack. Teams can grant Claude access to selected channels and tools, then tag @Claude to delegate tasks while focusing on other work.
Key Features:
- Multiplayer: One Claude instance per Slack channel that interacts with everyone, allowing team members to see what it's working on and pick up conversations
- Learning Over Time: Claude builds context from channel activity and can learn from other Slack channels and data sources (doesn't report from private channels)
- Proactive Initiative: With ambient behavior enabled, Claude proactively flags relevant information and follows up on unresolved threads
- Asynchronous Work: Set tasks and focus on other priorities while Claude works; can schedule tasks for itself over hours or days
- Direct Messages: Send Claude private messages using personal tools and connectors
Internal Adoption:
- 65% of Anthropic's product team's code is created by their internal version of Claude Tag
- Usage spreading beyond engineering to product metrics, support tickets, and bug investigation
Availability:
- Available in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers
- Works with Slack
- Uses Claude Opus 4.8
- Replaces existing Claude in Slack app
- Administrators can migrate within 30 days
- Introductory launch credits issued to eligible organizations
Access Control:
- System administrators specify which tools and information the model can access in which channels
- Separate Claude identities for different uses with scoped memories
- Token spend limits can be set for organization and individual channels
- Full audit logs of Claude's actions and who requested each task
Getting Started: For Enterprise and Team customers:
- Pair Claude Tag with Slack workspace
- Give Claude access to tools
