Grok 4.5 reasoning model joins Copilot
v4.5
Grok 4.5, xAI’s latest reasoning model, is now rolling out in GitHub Copilot. It is designed for fast, agentic coding and complex multi-step workflows, with a context window of up to 500,000 tokens, support for text and image inputs, as well as low, medium, and high reasoning effort.
In our internal testing, Grok 4.5 showed strong results across terminal-based coding tasks in Visual Studio Code and Copilot CLI. It performed especially well when dispatching tools in parallel and taking direct action, making it a strong fit for exploration, unblocking complex tasks, and time-sensitive coding workflows.
This model is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing. See GitHub Copilot’s pricing for models and requests for details.
Availability in GitHub Copilot
Grok 4.5 will be available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise SKUs.
