Shipped in May, the finance_search tool brought structured financial data — quotes, earnings, analyst estimates, and more — to the Agent API.

Financial data in the Agent API — The finance_search tool lets the model pull structured market data on demand for public companies and instruments:

• Near-real-time prices and OHLCV ranges, including pre-market and after-hours data
• Income statements, balance sheets, cash flow (quarterly and annual), and key ratios
• Earnings call transcripts, filings, and beat/miss history¹
• Analyst estimates, top gainers/losers, and ownership and corporate actions²

Third-party model support expanded — Claude Opus 4.7, GPT-5.5, and Grok 4.20 Reasoning joined the Agent API roster in April 2026.

API key security tightened — Full token values are now returned only at creation and cannot be retrieved again from the console or any endpoint.

New integrations and billing options — The n8n workflow platform added a native Perplexity node covering Chat Completions, Agent, Search, and Embeddings, with models loading dynamically. API credits are now purchasable through AWS Marketplace for consolidated billing.

Developer utilities — A new GET /v1/models endpoint lists all available Agent API models in OpenAI-compatible format and requires no authentication.
