Introducing the first iteration of expense risk tiering to help managers determine which expenses require closer inspection. High-risk expenses are flagged based on Brex's risk rules and tagged with an icon on the Expenses and Inbox pages. Users can set a filter to view only high-risk expenses and see the reason for each flag.
The Brex accounting journal introduces a new suggestions hub with machine learning-based rule suggestions for finance teams. This feature helps automate the creation of custom rules for GL coding. Admins and bookkeepers can access suggestions on the Prepare page under the Accounting tab to streamline transaction categorization and mapping to accounting fields.
Brex Empower now includes enhanced spend alerts that help admins identify unusual spend and saving opportunities in real time. Alerts are consolidated under three types in the task inbox: expensive transactions, spend increases, and high per-diem spend. Click insights to see details and follow up with comments or mark as resolved.

The feature proactively suggests that cardholders reassign expenses to the correct spend limit when detected.
