## Overview

Recently shipped release-search category and collection filters, importance scoring through CLI search, and a v2 JSON export for domain ownership claims.

**Search scopes and scoring reached the CLI.** `releases search --json` now passes AI-assigned importance (1–5) through hits, normalized to `null` when unscored; the TTY table marks high-importance entries with the flame glyph. `releases search` gained `--category` and `--collection` filters, forwarding to the `/v1/search` params and composing with existing `--domain` scope.

**Domain ownership round-trip is now verifiable.** `releases json export` produces a v2 manifest for hosting at `/.well-known/releases.json`, and `releases json validate` checks manifests against the schema before publishing. The `get_catalog_entry` MCP tool accepts `changelog_path`, `changelog_offset`, and related slicing params, making the deprecated `get_source_changelog` tool redundant — it now returns the standard unknown-tool error.

**Dry-run backfills report real gaps.** `source backfill --dry-run` now shows `N not yet stored`, so a run over a source missing recent history reads as uneventful only when nothing is missing. The report also sets `inserted` to `null` on dry runs instead of fabricating a count. Fixed `getApiUrl()` memoization that could pin a stale API base URL across test files.

### July 30, 2026

Incremental extraction now escalates to a full-page pass when a scrape window returns zero results, preventing silent stalls on sources with long entries. Video sources now trigger site revalidation and route through configured AI models on initial ingest, and the staleness digest no longer re-reports provider outages that have been cleared.

### July 29, 2026

MCP server now implements the 2026-07-28 spec, returning plain JSON to modern clients while maintaining SSE framing for 2025-era clients. The new POST /v1/ai/lanes/:lane endpoint invokes ingest-time AI lanes and can write results back.

getApiUrl() no longer memoizes the API base URL process-wide, fixing a test isolation bug that caused 22 failing tests under bun test. The releases stats command now reads the server's real values instead of returning zeroed-out fields, and source backfill --dry-run reports how much history is not yet stored.
